5 DIY Ways to Save Money and Make Your Backyard Awesome

Having a backyard that looks amazing and makes your family and guests feel comfortable is a great thing. It’s nice to have a place that you can escape to that’s well, right in your own backyard! When done right your backyard can be a place that is therapeutic, a vacation destination and the center of entertaining. However, unfortunately doing so usually involves money.

1. Stash Magical Marbles In Your Fence

This is an awesome way to liven up your backyard and create a colorful paradise. It’s very subtle but when the sun shines through the marbles will look stellar! People will be so impressed and think you took a lot of time and money to make such an awesome effect happen. But guess what? It was easy AND cheap! Drill holes and insert marbles. Voila!

2. Giant Scrabble Set

This is the best thing ever! If you love Scrabble as much as I do, you NEED this in your backyard! Everyone will want to come over to your house—so if you don’t want that, better think twice. Ha! Anyways, this project is super easy and won’t cost you an arm and a leg to make.

3. Wine Bottle Tiki Torches

Never throw an empty wine bottle away again! As you’ve probably seen before there are countless DIY projects you can do with used wine bottles and wine corks. This one though will vamp up your backyard and help you save money as well as recycle. Instead of buying new tiki torches, use the resources you already have—wine bottles. The only thing is you’ll have to drink some wine but that’s not too hard now is it?

4. Spray Paint Lawn Twister

This is most definitely the easiest one to accomplish on this list. No need to build anything and it doesn’t take much time. All you need to do is buy some green, yellow, blue and red spray paint, have a patch of lawn to use, have a Twister board [you can also make your own] and people willing to play!

5. Convert an Old Bunk Bed Into a Stargazing Platform
