TIP: To find pallet boards it’s always a good idea to just ask around at your local stores to see if you can get them for free. Smaller stores are more likely to give them away. If not you can always offer some cash, or can purchase them at a home improvement store or online.
Outdoor Bar Cart
Finding something at your favorite second hand furniture stores that can be made into a bar should be pretty easy. Use your imagination! Even a desk with a little makeover can become a bar. It all depends on how much you want to put into your DIY project. The easiest DIY is going to be something that is ready to go and just needs a little paint.
Check out this entire tutorial on how to make one from scratch. Remember you don’t have to do it from scratch, find something to work with at a second hand store, thrift store or yard sale to cut down on the work. Once you finish this project your going to want to have friends over and show off your lovely little bar! It’s just another excuse to have that summer party you have been wanting to have.

Cheap Patio Furniture
If you don’t want to get too crazy with your DIY skills, you can find entire sets of patio furniture at second hand stores and yard sales. Often times people give these things away just because the paint has faded from being weathered and/or the cushions are gone or look old. Well get excited because both of these problems can be fixed! And you’re the perfect person to do it. A can of spray paint and some new cushions is all you need and voila! You just saved hundreds on not buying a whole new patio set.
TIP: Use a primer when painting outdoor furniture. This will help the paint to stay on longer and be more resistant during weather conditions such as high heat and rain.
Statues
You know how sometimes you see those odd statues in second hand and thrift stores and you wonder what the heck you would do with it? Well, those are some of the BEST pieces to scoop up, especially for your backyard and patio. All these statues need is a little bit of paint and love and they will spruce up any area. They are super chic and people will think you spent a bunch of money to buy it like “that.” Little will they know it’s all due to your awesome money saving nature and DIY skills. A little paint can go a long way!
Now that we gave you some ideas, which are you most excited to try? Have you tried any of these before? We’d love to hear your experiences and hear how they turned out!
