WHY ARC

WHAT SETS US APART...

The Arc Thrift Store & Donation center is part of a larger, community-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization, The Arc of Butte County - and we do far more than relieve you of your discarded household items and clothes.

Each dollar spent and item donated goes towards Arc's many supportive programs. These programs serve individuals with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Our goal is to foster skills that will allow individuals with I/DD to lead happy and successful lives. We promote independence through education, experience and emotional wellbeing.

Our thrift store provides vital work experience for adults with I/DD - experience that might otherwise be difficult to find. Skills that come naturally to many of us, like basic math, organization or appropriate socialization, can be presented as challenges within the workplace for our client employees. Each person we work with has a unique set of goals and excels in different areas of work and life. We aim to enhance their known skills, as well as discover and expand on new abilities, so these individuals have a greater chance of finding employment based on their qualifications.

All Donations to The Arc of Butte County are Tax Deductible.
