7 Creative Gift Wrapping Ideas You Can Find at the Arc Store in Chico

Tired of using that everyday ordinary wrapping paper? Want to try something different and inexpensive? Shopping at the Arc Store in Chico made it easy for me to buy the materials that I needed to make this Christmas a designer Christmas to remember. If you’re like me and you want to make that special someone’s gift as special as possible try these awesome gift wrapping ideas.

1.  Ready-to-Wear

Infuse new life into a thrift-store shirt and brooch. Use a thrift shirt to wrap the original gift. Not only is the result eco-friendly, but when you remove the brooch and unpin the shirt, you’ve got three gifts in one. The Arc Store in Chico has a wide variety of vintage brooches that would look great.

2.  Stick to It

Tired of red ribbon? Have you ever tried Decorative Packaging Tape? It’s a fun alternative. You can find it in multiple colors and graphic patterns such as polka dot, plaid, paisley and fun characters.

3.  Bread Basket

The prettier the presentation, the more irresistible your baked goods look. A homemade loaf of bread can be presented in a most unusual way. Instead of placing your made-with-love goodies in just a tin or holiday themed baggie, consider using a serving tray or wicker basket. Find gently used colorful napkins or a few placemats for placing inside a decorative container with trimmings. But be careful that you allow your baked goods to cool thoroughly before wrapping them in a basket. Don’t forget to check the Arc Store in Chico for those napkins, placemats and that special basket or serving piece. They can be very costly in retail stores. Your baked goods and the packaging become more than one present for your lucky recipients.

4.  Peppermint Package

Cushion your presents with candy! Replace boring styrofoam with swirls of minty goodness, then wrap your gifts in the red-and-white color combination for an eye-catching display. The Arc Store in Chico may have some packing materials at a discounted price; make sure to check with them before heading to your local retail store.

5.  Wine Bottle Cover

I picked up an old sweater from the Arc Store in Chico. I cut the sleeves off and hand-sewed a straight stitch around the opening of the cut side of the sleeve, pulled it tight to close it onto itself to meet together in the center, and knotted it to secure. Then placed the wine bottle inside and rolled down the top for decoration. Check out this blog for instructions.

6.  Musical Gift Bags

I took 8×11 music sheet pages I also found at the Arc Store in Chico, folded them in half and sewed them along three sides. Then I punched holes at the top. Added the ribbon and tag and they were ready to go.

7.  Sweater Wrap

I simply cut off the arm of an old wool sweater and slid the box through it so it was nice and snug. I then tied the remaining wool into a bow to make an inexpensive and unique wrapping job. The Arc Store in Chico has a wide selection of winter sweaters that would work perfect.

Now that you have some unique ideas to make your Christmas gifts extra special for those extra special people in your life this holiday season, head to the Arc Store in Chico to find all those great second hand materials at great prices.

That’s a Wrap!
