Beer, brats and polka music—that must mean it’s Oktoberfest time! You’re only missing one thing, your Oktoberfest outfit.

Have you ever thought about looking for your Oktoberfest outfit at the Arc Store in Chico? You never know what you can find at a thrift store, so come dig around and take a look. You may be surprised.

Here’s a guide on how to put together an Oktoberfest worthy outfit that will surprise all your friends! Especially when they find out how inexpensive it was to purchase, and you get to KEEP your outfit, while they just rented theirs. Now, there’s nothing wrong with renting if you can’t find an outfit to wear, but if you plan on going every year, why not just buy it!

Lederhosen:

• Brown, black or tan shorts in leather, suede, faux suede, corduroy or cloth (traditionally they are leather but those may be hard to find)
• Suspenders (Brown or decorative)
• An open necked button up shirt or just a regular t-shirt
• Knee high socks (light colored)
• Brown or black dress shoes or boots
• Hat with a feather stuck in it
• Beer Stein

Dirndl:

This is what is traditionally worn by women at Oktoberfest. It includes a flowy type skirt with a tight, almost corset type top to show off the womanly figure.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• A peasant dress or a flowy skirt with a white shirt
• A bra-less corset (a color)
• Apron
• White knee high socks
• Clogs, Loafers or Mary Jane Shoes (if you can’t find these black or brown shoes will do)
• Ribbon
• Braids

Speaking of, here’s your information for the upcoming Oktoberfest celebration at Sierra Nevada Brewery. While tickets for Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3, are all sold out, it looks like Sunday, October 4, tickets may still be available!
