Fun Ways to Save Money on Easter Baskets and Stuffers for Kids & Adults

Typically, Easter baskets and their contents can be located down the candy aisle after Valentine’s Day at any grocery or drug store. The easy route is to purchase the ready-made variety enticingly enclosed in shiny cellophane; or you could be creative and fill your kid’s baskets with all of the sticky, fluffy, and pricey offerings that aisle has to offer. If you’re looking for ways to save money for Easter, you can really get creative and discover thoughtful, fun, and unique basket stuffers at the Arc Store.

The Arc Store in Oroville always has an abundance of straw baskets throughout the year, so if you do create your own, there are many sizes and shapes to choose from. You can even add “grass” to the bottom to add to the organic feel. See the example below and get directions courtesy of Find it, Make it, Love it.

Easter baskets aren’t just for kids anymore

Confession…I make Easter baskets for grown-ups I love, not just the kids. In addition to the classic handled basket, find many creative ways to save money on Easter treat receptacle ideas at your local thrift store where they are reasonably priced.

I just purchased a camo hat today at the Arc Store to serve as “basket” for my adult son’s Easter treats.

Here are a few other ideas:

  • Book bag
  • Backpack
  • Cowboy boots with a fluffy stuffed bunny peeking out
  • Tea pot stuffed with jewelry
  • Tackle box containing chocolate and some baseball cards

There are so many ideas to wrap up with a ribbon as you stand in for the Easter Bunny this year!

Doesn’t every Easter basket need chocolate?

I polled various folks here at the Arc Store in Oroville and learned that lots of families stuff their kid’s baskets with all kinds of items not related to tooth decay. The kiddos just love receiving gifts that last longer than the second or two it takes to munch off that bunny’s chocolate ears. One woman shared that her mom traditionally stuffed a swimsuit and flip-flops in her basket in anticipation of warm weather to come. There is a lot of fun in the sun gear to be found at the Arc Store.

One woman shared her memories of baskets stuffed with Cadbury Caramel Eggs and books. One man remembered the treasured stuffed animals his baskets would contained and the Easter egg hunts he enjoyed so much.

Why not create some memories for the loved ones in your life, young and young-at-heart, by using these easy ways to save money by shopping for Easter baskets (and outfits!) at the Arc Store?
