Have you bought all the gifts on your list and checked it twice? Now all the well-thought-out gifts have to be wrapped and the elves from the Arc of Butte County – a.k.a. staff, community volunteers and board members – will be happy to wrap 1 or 30 gifts for you. 

Beginning Saturday, Dec. 12  through Friday, Dec. 18 and again Sunday, Dec. 20 through Thurs. Dec. 24, the Arc Gift Wrapping Booth will be located by the Food Court at the Chico Mall.

The Chico Mall has generously donated the space to the Arc for several years, allowing us to raise much needed funds for our Family Support Programs. It’s convenient for mall shoppers, and even if you have gifts purchased elsewhere, bring them all and we’ll make sure they are under-the-tree ready.

The Gift Wrapping Tradition

The Arc of Butte County has offered gift wrapping services to Chico residents for more than 25 years. It began in the North Valley Plaza Mall many years ago, then was held in the Chico Arc Store and now our gift wrapping home is at the Chico Mall.

Our Volunteers

The Arc has been fortunate to have organizations such as The National Charity League, office teams from InterWest Insurance Services, and Sweeney & Sweeney Insurance Services staff the booth for an entire day. We also have volunteer wrappers who are parents of the developmentally disabled children or adults that are clients of the Arc.

Many of our employees and friends of the Arc volunteer their time and gift wrapping skills as a way of helping to raise funds and make a difference in their community. Gift wrapping at the Chico Mall provides an opportunity to bond with co-workers, friends, and family and see what your neighbors are getting their families for Christmas. 

Only the Best

It’s a fun experience to meet people who have put a lot of time and energy into finding just the right gift and then watching them choose their wrapping paper. We use heavy grade high-end wrapping paper that will not easily tear or wrinkle to ensure that the gift can withstand all the shaking and peeking that might take place before the designated day of opening.

All Occasions

We also wrap Hanukkah gifts, birthday gifts or just-because gifts. The prices are very affordable and for many dads and husbands, a godsend. We’ve had dads bring us 25 gifts for 5 different children and his wife! We generally ask them to come back in a few hours after putting a sticky note on each one to identify what and who it’s for. Most of the time the wait is very minimal – we wrap while you wait!

The booth is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 12 through Dec 18 and Dec. 20 through Dec. 24, closing early on Christmas Eve.
