Style Like a Designer With Used Clothing, Without Breaking Your Bank

Spring TrendsWith spring here, fresh styles and inspiration are heading out to the stores right off the runway. But, who wants to pay top dollar for those new trends that will no longer even be “in” soon? Did you know you can stay trendy and hip but save money at the same time by purchasing used clothing? Yep, it’s true!

And guess where an awesome place to find used clothing is? Your local thrift store or second hand store. So, let’s go through some of this spring’s hippest trends so that you know what to look for next time you’re shopping for used clothing.

Spring Trends

Pastels

This spring it’s all about the pastels. Move out of the way bright and bold colors, your toned downed counterparts are making an appearance! So when you are shopping for used clothing look for pastels like pinks, blues, mints, lavenders and yellows. What’s great about pastels being in is that it’s not just one color. You have options!

Thrift stores are full of pastel colored clothing. Pastels made their appearance a few years ago, so now that they are back what would be a better place to look for them at other than a second hand store?

Tassels/Fringe

You know those things that used to hang from curtains, tablecloths or other furniture design type things? Well, welcome them to the world of fashion! You’ve probably already started to notice that people have it hanging from their shirts, skirts and purses. To say the least, we are pretty excited about this trend. Finding used clothing that has tassels or fringe is super easy—especially since this trend was so popular about a decade ago. Fashion trends always make a comeback, and now you can find them for half the price at your local thrift store

Crop Tops

You’re either going to love or hate this spring trend. Crop tops aren’t for everyone and nor are they complimentary on every figure. My advice: Instead of dropping a wad of cash on a small piece of material, check your local thrift store first.

Lace

Look around you. I’m willing to bet if you’re around at least a few people there’s one in the crowd that has something lacey on. Lace is all the rage this spring, even though it’s always been popular. Finding used clothing that has some sort of lace aspect to it should be an easy task.

TIP: Lace is great to layer with. So, if you find a spaghetti strap lace shirt and it seems a bit too revealing for you, don’t forget that it can be layered! It would look great peeking underneath another shirt. Lace does this best!

Florals

What would spring be without floral clothing? Daisy printed items are being showcased in almost every major department store right now. Stand out from the crowd and choose a different floral pattern. Thrift stores are a great place to find used clothing that fits right into this spring fashion trend because just like a lot of the other trends, this is one that has been seen before. Just like history, fashion repeats itself!
