It’s Salmon Festival time again in Oroville, CA! Gorgeous weather is forecasted for the thousands of salmon making their way through the hatchery, and for the hundreds of festival participants making their way through our lovely and historic town. There are many activities to meander through at the festival on Saturday, September 27, but the speediest festival participants (besides the celebrated salmon) will be those adventurous folks registered for the amazing Oroville Hospital 3K Salmon Color Dash. 

Have you ever seen a Color Dash?

These fun-loving race participants actually get doused with colored cornstarch!  A lot of colored cornstarch! Does that sound like something you and the kids would enjoy? These colorful and hilarious events are the rage all over the country. Check out the race registration info here.

Health Fair

Oroville Hospital is hosting a Health Fair that day, with free blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings, and more! The Arc Store in Oroville is located just around the corner from Oroville Hospital, so stop in before or after the mad dash to the finish line.

Feather River Fish Hatchery

The Hatchery will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with free tours every half hour, educational booths, and a student art exhibit on the bridge. The Arc Store in Oroville frequently has fishing and camping equipment available for budding sports enthusiasts (in case those happy fish inspire your next family fun event) and the cookbooks and grill accessories to make it really happen!

The Bounty of Oroville

This will be located on Myers Street, next to the municipal auditorium and Salmon Court. Speaking of Salmon Court…yum! You can see non-stop entertainment 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Levee, with grilled and smoked salmon, gourmet foods, and beer and wine. Buy something scrumptious to snack on while enjoying beautiful art exhibited by local artists on the Levee.

Annual Family Fun Day at Bicentennial Park

Butte County Office of Education will host this event, complete with more live music, a talent show, face painting and games for the kiddies. (A Kid’s Zone is also located at Montgomery and Myers Streets, along with the Food Court, Free Parking and Shuttle Service).

Downtown Oroville Street Fair

Shoppers will be hopping throughout the heart of our historic downtown area, visiting interesting shops and vendors, artists and crafters.
