The Arc Store Paradise Celebrates One-Year Anniversary
Here it is, already March in a new year and the staff of the Arc Store in Paradise can hardly believe it’s been a full year since we opened. It seems like just a little while ago we were welcoming in our first customers. I guess that confirms how busy we’ve been.
It’s been a pleasure meeting all of the local customers and some from as far away as Oregon who love to shop at second hand stores. Our staff receives compliments daily about how the store is so clean and a pleasure to shop at.
The Arc Store is one of three stores within the Arc of Butte County organization that exists to raise funds for the Family Support Programs that we offer and to provide employment opportunities to clients of the Arc.
Celebrating With a Sale

How We Are Making a Difference
The Arc Store is one of three stores within the Arc of Butte County organization that exists to raise funds for the Family Support Programs that we offer and to provide employment opportunities to clients of the Arc.
The Arc of Butte County is a nonprofit corporation established in the local area sixty-two years ago and is dedicated to serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
I can attest to the high level of compassion and commitment to those individuals and their families from those working within the Arc organization to the clients who are served by the variety of programs we offer.
I consider myself extremely fortunate to be a part of it.There are quite a few organizations in Paradise providing services to the disabled, whether religiously affiliated or one of the state run agencies. We share a common goal to do our best to contribute to the overall quality of life for the intellectually disabled community.
Local Participation and Contributions
Since we opened the Arc Store Paradise in March of 2014, the Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce has been active in welcoming us and inviting us into the town’s yearly activities. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was a lot of fun with visiting state representatives and many members of the Arc’s board of directors. My staff and I felt a great deal of pride in showing off the store and truly feeling a part of something special. We are looking forward to taking part in this year’s contest where local businesses decorate their stores for the upcoming Gold Nugget Days weekend in April.
Over this past year, there has been a huge upswing in housing sales locally, as I’ve learned from attending Paradise Chamber activities where I’ve met many of the local real estate agents. They have helped me to realize the sense of pride and joy in helping to build a community through its people. In the past few months, we’ve had the satisfaction of welcoming many of these new residents to town as they are already shopping local at the Arc Store Paradise and searching for local created pieces of art or to update their furnishings. Almost all of them come back repeatedly, as they also have fun looking for other items. In acclimating to a new and cooler climate they also enjoy shopping our clothing departments for inexpensive fashions and in some cases warmer clothing.
Come Visit the Arc Store Paradise
In closing, I would urge you to come by and see the Arc Store Paradise and meet our wonderful staff and clients, who take joy every day in bringing the finest items that are generously donated to us by our local public to our show room floor. You never know what you’ll find, and in purchasing our merchandise you can be assured that all of your dollars are staying local and helping a whole lot of people here in our community.
